The Bedford County area offers many historic, cultural and
recreational activities. Our most recent attraction is the newly
opened National Museum of the American Coverlet, just across the
street. This fascinating museum is the only one in the US, and
features over 40 woven bed coverings that were created 18th century
American artists. Also, in downtown Bedford, is the Bedford County
Arts Center, featuring exhibitions of various art mediums that change
monthly.
Historic Bedford is well-known for the Fall Foliage Festival held the first two weekends of October with music, craft vendors, festival foods, antique cars and parades.
