We have lovingly
restored this grand old house into a Bed and Breakfast, saving the
traditional architectural features and adding all new modern
conveniences. Heavy moldings, high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows,
wide center halls, carved staircases, and wide verandas are blended
harmoniously with central air conditioning, recessed lighting,
refinished hardwood floors, new private baths, state-of-the-art
kitchen, ceiling fans, cable TV and high speed wireless internet. Pause
before you enter, to view our wide wrap-around front porch, complete
with several rocking chairs just waiting for you to settle into with a
good book. Our seasonal potted plants and ferns will enjoy your company
too.
Refreshments are served when weather permits. |

Our largest bedroom
features a mahogany four-poster queen bed surrounded by Victorian
furnishings and a twin size daybed for additional sleeping. The room is
bright with large windows on three sides, with a view of both front and
back gardens. The dogwood trees just outside are gorgeous when in
spring blossom. The bathroom is spectacular, with a wide porcelain
sink, an elegantly tiled walk-in shower with glass door, and separate
soaking tub.

The most elegant room
in the house is the cherry paneled library. It was designed and built
for the former Chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. John
Bowman. It was Dr. Bowman's vision that inspired the building of the
Cathedral of Learning , a famous landmark in Pittsburgh today. His
creativity lives on here in this richly appointed room, which features
a fireplace he designed from handmade tiles made on the premises.
